Authors, including the TB-CRE investigators Justin Denholm and Chris Coulter, present and analyse TB and MDR-TB data from the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System between 2015 and 2018.
Whilst Australia maintains excellent control of TB, a sustained and concerted effort will be required to reduce rates further. This is especially the case among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations (who still exhibit TB rates around four to five times higher than Australian-born Non-Indigenous persons).
