2021 Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) International Medal recipient.
TB-CRE Chief Investigator Prof Greg Fox has been awarded the 2021 International Medal from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). The Medal recognises a member of the RACP who has provided outstanding service in developing countries.
Professor Greg Fox is a respiratory physician, epidemiologist and clinical trialist whose research focuses on tuberculosis and chronic lung disease. He is a Research Leader at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research - collaborating closely with the Vietnam National TB Program - and is Research Academic Director (Internationalisation) for the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. Together with TB-CRE Cheif Investigator Prof Ben Marais, Greg is co-head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Tuberculosis, a newly designated WHO Collaborating Centre aiming to serve as a national institute to implement the "Regional Framework for Action on Implementation of the End TB Strategy in the Western Pacific Region, 2016- 2020" and the End TB Strategy in the Western Pacific Region.
Greg’s research conducting multi-centre studies on the prevention and detection of TB in resource-limited settings has informed global TB policies and clinical practice.
