The Vice President of India was the special guest at Wednesday's Opening Ceremony for the 50th Union World Conference on Lung Health, being held in Hyderabad this week.
The formal ceremony included a number of Indian VIPs, such as the Governor of Telangana State, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, and the Indian Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
The Union's President-elect, Professor Guy Marks, was part of the VIP guests on the stage.
On Thursday, Professor Marks appeared with the Union President, Dr Jeremiah Chakaya
Muhwa, as they took questions from some of the delegates, who have come from 130 countries to attend the conference.
