Congratulations to Alvin Kuo Jing Teo on Faculty Publication Award!

We are delighted to congratulate Alvin Kuo Jing Teo, TB CRE Postdoctoral Research Fellow, on being named a Main Publication Award – Early-Career Researcher Winner in the 2026 Faculty of Medicine and Health EMCR Outstanding Publication Awards.

Alvin was recognised for his publication, “The relationship between a known diagnosis of tuberculosis and symptom reporting: implications for case detection strategies”, published in the European Respiratory Journal. The study found that symptom-based screening would have missed most bacteriologically confirmed TB cases identified through community-wide screening, highlighting the need for more sensitive approaches to TB case detection.

This important work provides valuable evidence to inform TB screening strategies and support earlier diagnosis and treatment. Congratulations to Alvin on this well-deserved recognition.
