About

Associate Professor James McCracken Trauer is an epidemiologist, respiratory physician and infectious disease modeller, with a special interest in tuberculosis (TB) and COVID-19. He leads the Epidemiological Modelling Unit at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, where his team develops computational tools to support public health responses. His research has had regional impact across Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific, where his modelling and software tools have informed TB and COVID-19 control strategies. In collaboration with WHO and many domestic and international national health agencies, A/Prof Trauer uses data-driven approaches to support evidence-based public health policy.
