Operational research on TB aims to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes by searching for knowledge on strategies, interventions or tools that can enhance the performance of local health programs to address TB. The latest Structured Operational Research Training Initiative in TB (SORT-IT) courses training held in Indonesia and PNG resulted in 14 peer-reviewed research publications that boost local research capacity and can improve TB programs.

TB CRE Investigators Steve Graham and Philipp du Cros were lead facilitators in PNG and Indonesia respectively. The SORT-IT trainings were both supported by the Australian government through grants to the Burnet Institute from MRFF (SWEEP-TB) and the PRIME-TB DFAT grant
